At the beginning of this, I had an issue with my weight. Yes, I am super underweight. I have tried it all - vitamins, supplements.  I have consulted with a nutritionist and we actually measured everything that I eat in terms of calories. But I barely gained weight.  Until, my pulmonologist suggested that I try drinking formula milk. I tried it, for 2 weeks, and I observed a little weight gain. A pound or two. But the problem, my stomach gets upset, and I did not like the feeling in my stomach every time I drink it. Parang laging gusto ko dumighay, and it was uncomfortable.

Until I read something about goat's milk that made me wanted to try it.  I have tried Goat Milk products on my skin and they work wonderfully -- that is why I am so excited with this goat milk beverage!

I wanted a better alternative to formula milk -- for myself -- and I heard of the many advantages of Goat's Milk.

1.  Naturally More Complete
Goats produce their milk through Apocrine Secretion, where milk fat and bioactive components in mammary secretory cells are enveloped by cell membranes as they are secreted. As a result, milk produced by goats have naturally occurring bioactive components such as:

  • Polyamines for intestinal cell growth and digestive capacity development
  • Nucleotides for gastrointestinal health, maturation, and recovery
  • Free Amino Acids and Glutamic Acid for immunity and gut energy
  • Taurine for bile salt formation (necessary for fat digestion), brain and retina development
  • Growth Factors such as IGF1 and TGF Beta for immunity and growth development
  • Extensive and complicated fortification for these nutrients are no longer necessary!

2.  Easier to Digest
Casein, the solid part of the milk protein produces curds in our stomach. Compared to milk sourced from other animals, DG produces a very loose curd structure with a high proportion of water that is easily broken apart, thus facilitating easier digestion of milk proteins.

3. Less Allergenic
β-Lactoglobulin is the whey protein that stimulates milk protein allergies. Compared with milk from other animals, DG has lowest levels of β-Lactoglobulin; thus making it less allergenic for us! Dairy Goat is undoubtedly the premium goat milk brand perfect for your child!

4. With more CPP!
Casein Posphopeptides (CPP) binds more binds minerals such as calcium, magnesium, iron, and zinc. Thereby, increasing the solubility and absorption of these minerals.

This component is higher in DG, which can help your children grow healthy and strong!

DG Goat Milk Beverage, the Philippines’ first and only Premium Powdered Milk sourced from Goat’s Milk! Produced and imported from the Dairy Goat Co-operative in Hamilton, New Zealand, DG Goat Milk Beverage for Kids offers powdered goat milk of the highest quality

Our Goat Milk is made responsibly. The process of converting pure goat milk into a safe, exceptional powdered milk beverage is a gentle, and minimal one; our minimal processing results in a product closer to its natural source! Furthermore, we choose only the healthiest Saanen goats from New Zealand to ensure having milk of the highest quality.

As a mom of teens -- I am excited to give DG Goat Milk beverage! And sharing with you here a very easy recipe for you to continue giving milk to your children, even if they are already beyond 3 years of age!  As adults, we shouldn't stop drinking our milk!

1 ripe banana, sliced or broken into pieces
1/2 cup DG milk
1/2 cup water
1 Tbsp maple syrup
A small drop of pure vanilla extract

Combine all ingredients in a blender and blend until smooth and has milk like consistency. Serve immediately and enjoy!

DG Goat Milk ice cream - yummy!

with fellow mommy bloggers at the DG Goat Milk Launch

If it is BEST for children 3 years and above, it might do wonders for me too. And I am happy to report, that after four days (twice a day) of consumption, I have already gained 3 lbs. and the absence of upset stomach, primarily because it is really easier to digest.

It is a little expensive compared to other milk products in the market, because goats can only provide as much milk than other animal sources. But price versus benefits, I will say, I will go for DG Goat's Milk. Because as a mom, health benefits are far more important.

DG Goat Milk is available at LAZADA  and  SHOPEE

Many of us would love to don a beautiful, shiny colored hair; however, it is important that we are cautious of the hair dyes that we are applying to our tresses.

Conventional hair colors contain hydrogen peroxide and ammonia, both are chemical agents that aid in hair coloring process. Hydrogen peroxide helps pigments in our hair to be broken down, removing its natural color. Meanwhile, ammonia changes hair’s PH level. It opens the cuticle of the hair, allowing the color to penetrate and absorbed. This process causes hair to change its color.

Through time, our scientists and hair experts have discovered the cons of using these two chemicals to our tresses. Repeated use of ammonia-based hair dyes can permanently damage our hair cuticles. This causes our strands to lose moisture, making them dry and brittle. Once the hair is damaged, it is irreversible. Most ammonia-based hair colors do not have necessary ingredients that protect the strands.
With the rise of herbal hair dyes, we can still achieve the hair color we desire to have. What makes herbal-based hair dye beneficial to use? Here are the reasons why you should consider using herbal hair dye now.

Damage no more
This is one of the best benefits of using herbal hair colors. It does not harm your hair because it does not contain chemical-harming agents that impair the health of your strands. Likewise, it retains the structure of your hair as no structural bonds are broken.

Safer to use
Since herbal hair colorant does not contain harmful ingredients, you are assured that it is safe to use. You are also free from the unwanted sting that causes your skin or eyes to irritate or to inhale a toxic scent.

Retains hair’s health
Herbal hair colors do not only provide vivid and rich color to your hair, but they also keep your strands soft, shiny, and strong.

Novelina Cosmetics recognizes the need to keep your colored hair beautiful and healthy. That is why it introduces its line of Herbal Hair Colorants that are safer to use yet more friendly on the budget. Novelina brings you the following herbal hair colorants:

When something is working for you -- you make it a point that you stick with it no matter what. As a writer for 20+ years, what works for me, is to keep on reinventing myself. I cannot be complacent in my work. When I shifted from TV writing to blogging, I did a lot of research on the new social platform. I studied the social media market. I observed what social media style works and connects with my audience.

Same with the brands that we love. If a beauty product works well on our skin, we continue to patronize it. Sabi nga... kung saan ka hiyang, dun ka!

In my humble opinion, this is Dermcare's secret for being a top player in the beauty business in the Philippines.  First, they are very affordable. They are true to their promise that beauty shouldn't be that expensive and should be accessible from class A to E. Value for money is their commitment. Second, through the years, they now have more or less a total of 120 branches nationwide. All these branches are staffed with trusted dermatologists and professionally trained beauty therapists.  Third, and the most important factor, they are very customer-oriented. They give discounts to valued and loyal customers. They keep on upgrading their branches, constantly come up with innovative products that will answer their clients' ever changing needs and they always welcome clients with the sweetest smile.

The very first Dermcare Professional Skin, Hair and Spa opened in the 1980s. With the first venue came dermatologically tested products that improved skin and made people more beautiful. They eventually expanded from a seller of beauty products to a one-stop-beauty-hub that offers world class skin facials (lightening, anti aging, pimple control treatments), body treatments (scrubs, waxing, spa services) as well as hair rebonding and treatments.

The Wellness Innovators Corporation, in partnership with the Dermcare Group of Companies will be launching an innovative skincare line this December. The new skincare line is designed and manufactured in partnership with Japanese beauty experts, and developed especially for working Filipinas who encounter a lot of glow suckers (pollution, harsh weather conditions, personal and professional stressors and unhealthy habits) in their daily lives and do not have the time for multi-step, time consuming skincare regimens.

"We believe that the combination of our experience in Filipina beauty, together with the technology of Japanese skin innovators, we have developed an excellent product that can help Filipinas reveal their radiant, beautiful skin," explained Mrs. Zenaida Palisoc, CEO and President of the Dermcare Group of Companies.

In addition to its healing, nourishing and protective attributes, this new skincare line promises integration in the working Filipina's beauty regimen. These products will be launched on December 9, 2019, during Dermcare's 30 Gorgeous Years Party which will be held at the Manila Hotel. Follow the launch event's official hashtag #PinayRadiance to be one of the first people to witness this newest innovation in Philippine Skincare.

Kwentong Pilipina, a digital platform made to empower Filipinas, is a part of an advocacy to elevate the lives of Filipinas. This platform shares inspiring stories of Filipinas who overcame challenges and adversities.

Aside from stories, Filipinas will also gain access to exclusive content about health, career women's rights, beauty, lifestyle, and other relevant content. These will be coming from different individuals and organizations who are advocates of women empowerment.

Finally, viewers can become a part of a community where they can interact with likeminded Filipinas. This will give them a place to share their own stories, pieces of advice and ask questions to their fellow members.

The Kwentong Pilipina advocacy is championed by the Wellness Innovators Corporation, in partnership with different local organizations and individuals.

No one can argue with the 30 year success of Dermcare. And when you are successful, there is a tendency to be copied. Warning though -- Dermcare Professional Skin, Hair and Spa and Dermcare Luxe Wellness and Spa are NOT affiliated, associated, or in any way connected with Dermacare Face Body and Laser Center/Dermacare Skin, Hair & Spa. Be informed guys, and you should trust only the brand with history!

It’s the season of shopping, as the holidays are approaching.

And I’m proud to say that I, a Tita, recently learned how to shop like a millennial! It’s funny the range of lessons I learn from the younger generation. Now they’re not just helping me update my wardrobe, but my fintech knowledge as well.

See, I was prodded by young staffers in the office to update my wardrobe by buying OOTD pieces from unique, mostly artisanal shops that do business online (primarily Instagram). This meant learning two key lessons: first, which online shops are high-quality and trustworthy, and second, how to pay for my shopping using bank transfer, as most of these shops prefer.

I placed my order for a few blouses from one shop and a pair of shoes from another.

Now on to payment: They taught me how to use GCash.

I’ve heard a lot about the mobile wallet, mostly for paying bills, which back then was irrelevant to me as my most of my bills were charged to my credit card. But I found out there’s more to it: You can transfer funds to bank accounts. Now this, I really, really need.

All I had to do was to link my bank account to cash in. This makes things convenient as I can easily transfer money from my bank account to my GCash account. I then tapped the Send Money feature then chose the Send Money to Bank Account option.

I selected the seller’s bank, which was no trouble as GCash has a network of over 40 banks and financial institutions. And then I typed in the account name and number. I keyed in the amount I needed to pay and clicked Send. The cash was transferred instantly—and at no extra cost to me.

I’ve tried bank-to-bank transfers once but I thought it was ridiculous that the banks would charge up to P50 for one transaction. With GCash, bank transfers are free and as efficient as online banking.

Anyway, I immediately reached out to the sellers to send proof of payment. Within minutes, they confirmed receipt. I just couldn’t believe how convenient it was.

Imagine putting together a new wardrobe in the comfort of my office, with just a few taps and swipes on my phone, from ordering to payment! In a few days, I got my clothes and new shoes delivered. My millennial staffers couldn’t be prouder at my new look and newfound fintech savvy.

Since then, I’ve been using GCash for most of my transactions, from scan-to-pay to money transfers. It just saves me a lot of time, spares me from the stress of having to go to banks and payment centers, and helps me manage my cash more efficiently.

Hello dear readers.  Us girls, we have the tendency to try out beauty products, one after the other. I am guilty of this! Why? Because I am constantly observing which product is super hiyang to my skin.  And when we try out products for the first time, it is either we fall in love with its effect OR stop using it because it does not suit you at all.

You wanna know the effect of the RED PEEL TINGLE SERUM by So Natural on my skin? Read on!

This red colored serum promises to remove dead skin cells and pore-clogging impurities. With regular use of 2-3 times a week, it can refine pore size, boost skin cell renewal, brightens and evens out skin tone and texture.

I love the texture Red Peel Tingle serum. Not too watery, but it is also not sticky. It glides well in the face.

As I gently massaged it, within a minute, it is absorbed by the skin. I let it stay on my face for 5 minutes, then washed it off with water. Surprisingly, it is very easy to remove from the face. After patting my face dry, I can feel the effect instantly - soft skin, brighter skin tone.  I didn't feel any tingling sensation using the product. So I decided to use it 3 times a week. After a week's use, I achieved that pinkish glow, excess oil is now non existent, and pimple marks seem to lighten.

When you get to my age (nope and not telling hahaha), you really need an exfoliant to remove dead skin cells and take away the dullness. Peeling lotions are just too harsh for my skin. It leaves my skin with red patches. I did not experience that with the Red Peel Tingle Serum. I have high hopes that if I continue to use this serum - it can give me that healthy, pinkish glow and will target my specific skin care concern like wrinkles!

One word of caution though... different skin type may have different reaction to this serum. It is always recommended to do a skin patch test first!

I was born and raised in Malabon. Stayed in that quaint little town (now a city) until 2009. And what I loved about the place? The fresh produce, especially seafood that I buy DAILY in the market, just 5 minutes from where I live.

When I transferred to Quezon City, I had a hard time adjusting to the fact that the only available fish in the market -- bangus, hito and galunggong. Admittedly, when I was in Malabon, I never ate galunggong, and until now I don't eat hito. For a true-blue "Malaboner", I am a big fan of Maya maya, lapu lapu, sapsap, dalagang bukid, kalankaw, espada, bisugo, tanigue at talimusak.  There is always an assigned recipe for specific kinds of fish. Kalankaw and espada for frying; lapu lapu and dalagang bukid for pesa; bisugo and talimusak for paksiw; tanigue for sinigang sa sampaloc, sapsap for sinigang sa bayabas.

Until I discovered Fisher Supermarket in Quezon Avenue!  They sell the freshest fish and seafood na pasado sa panlasa ko!  At a price that is very competitive to other groceries and even the local markets. Why? Because the owners of Fisher Supermarket get the supplies from their own fishing business. No middleman means lower prices.

Fisher Retail Inc. a family owned business which was named to reflect the Del Rosario family's well established roots in the fishing industry. The "fishing" idea started from IRMA Fishing and Trading Inc., which has been operating for over 40 years.

Fisher Retail Inco. is the owner and operator of Fisher Supermarket with branches at Quezon Avenue and Malabon. Fisher Supermarket is tagged as the FRESH ADVANTAGE that provides fresh, rare and affordable seafood and has a wide selection of exciting products.

Fisher Supermarket regularly holds sales, but the most awaited ones happen twice a year. One around march-april just in time for Holy Week called the RED BOAT SALE, and the other one is the BLACK OUT SALE.
