AWESOME NEW BAND: LET GRAVITY

FACT:  I love listening to music.... especially when I write scripts.  And I am a big fan of OPM.  The easy listening love songs of the Apo Hiking Society in the late 80's;  the relatable lyrics of Sugarfree and Hungry Young Poets (later on became Barbie's cradle)  in
the late 90's... And oh, I better stop mentioning my musical influences, it reveals so much about my age... toinks!

There are actually 2 things that I look for in my choice of music ---

      1)  meaningful, relatable lyrics.  Am a firm believer of "when you are happy, you enjoy
the song.... when you are sad, you understand the lyrics.... as if the singer is
           communicating with you

      2)  melody that you can sing or even hum to, even if you heard it for the very first time.

ALDEN, RAM, RIGIL AND  SAM

When I was invited to the press con of this upcoming band LET GRAVITY, I did some homework.  Went directly to their FB page, and listened to some of their songs.  And guess what... they passed my 2 criteria  :)

LET GRAVITY is composed of 5 talented musicians:

SAM SANTOS is the guitarist, who is a professional songwriter, who composed the teleserye theme song "Alipin" (used by GMA 7's Jewel in the Palace)  and a host of other telenovela themes.

DONNE SANTOS, was the founding member of indie-band, "Goodbye Tracy" and is a former member of Ramchaves band, formerly Sutil.

RIGIL BORROMEO, is the acoustic and electric fingerstyle guitarist... and a music teacher.

ALDEN ACOSTA, is the drummer and a former member of pop rock band Callalily.

And the band's newest member, "the last piece of the puzzle", RAM CHAVES, and a runner up in GMA 7's Pinoy Idol Season 1 competition.

When asked to describe their music, they replied... "Its pop rock with a touch of jazz".  But more than labelling their music, they shared that good music for them transcends time; their lyrics are open to different interpretation.  Its up to the listeners, on how to interpret it, how it  will touch their soul.

LET GRAVITY's soon-to-be-released album features carrier single "Defy", which is also the album title.

"Defy" charted on OPM MYX and Monster Radio RX 93.1.  It reached the TOP 10 charts for several weeks, a clear testimonial to the quality of music that the band produces.  In addition, their latest music video for their song "With A Kiss" is currently airing on MYX and Net 25..  It can also be viewed on YouTube Let Gravity Channel

They came from different bands, but they are definitely bonded in their strong desire to create beautiful and inspiring music.  A "brotherhood" of musicians, ready and eager to bring their audience what they clamor for:  melodic OPM sound.   So when you hear their sound, and it hits your heart and soul, go with the flow, let go, and LET GRAVITY take you to a world of music possibilities and good vibrations.
"We just have to keep believin’... That love will never lead us astray Everything happens for a reason... And our feelings can’t be just a mistake..."

Sometime in July, LET GRAVITY will release the music video for "Alamat".  This track is the movie theme song of the biopic Hermano Puli, directed by veteran film maker Gil Portes, with Aljur Abrenica in the title role. This historical film under T-Rex Entertainment will be shown in cinemas in September.   Watch the official trailer launched in December 2015.

LET GRAVITY's new album "Defy" is now available on Spotify, Amazon, Deezer and Itunes. CDs will be available soon in Odyssey Music Stores nationwide.  Digitally distributed by Star Music.

Mrs.Wise's personal favorite in the album is... Shout Hey!
"Shout love, shout peace.  Shout freedom, Shout Hey!"
With its cute and refreshing ukelele instrumental in the beginning, this one deserves a continuous play in her CD player  :)
