ORGANIC GARDENING.... IN A BOX!

MY GREEN THUMB DIARY:

The first time I saw "MNL Growkit", I was really intrigued. It just popped out from a friend's Facebook feed.  So I immediately got in touch with them so I can try out their grow kits.

MAY 27  (FRIDAY)

This is the day I got hold of my growkits.  When I opened it, was so impressed --- It is a
simple box complete with everything you need to grow your own organic edible and ornamental plants.  There is an instruction inside, a complete guide from growing to fertilizing to harvesting. And I think if you know how to follow instructions, there is a big chance you will be able to reach the end goal -- to harvest what you sow!

Armed with passion and interest in organic gardening, and the excitement of growing my own food and grow beautiful flowers -- I am all set for my MNL Growkit Experience.

MAY 29  (SUNDAY)

Today I plant my basil, sunflower and lettuce.  After reading thoroughly what is written on the instruction kit -- I started to sow, one by one.

INSTRUCTION ON TO HOW PREPARE THE GROW KIT
PRINTED ON KRAFT PAPER FOR THE ULTIMATE  ORGANIC FEEL :)

The soil is light brown in color, porous, its like holding cotton candy in your hand.  I pressed it down, to compact it in the coco husk pots.  Then proceeded with labelling the 3 coco husk pots.

PINK LETTUCE SEEDS

There is a need to cover with plastic to ensure germination.  The plastic helps to retain moisture that the little seeds need.  Twice a day watering, by using a water spray bottle will keep the seeds nurtured.

BLUE SUNFLOWER SEEDS

BASIL SEEDS
And finally, my "babies" are ready.  Planted, labelled, and watered!  They are sitting by the living room's picture window where there is ample amount of light  (not direct sunlight).  I hope to see some baby leaves in 4-5 days time.

MY GREEN THUMB DIARY..... will be continued   :)
